Part of the Community since 1846
The current congregation…Parker Presbyterian Church…is a combination of two churches that have been serving Collin County for more than 175 years. It was made up of remaining members of the oldest continuing congregation of any denomination in Collin County, Texas…Corinth Presbyterian Church founded on August 2, 1846…and members from First Presbyterian Church of Allen. Members of First Presbyterian Church originally met in a school in Allen in the early 80s, and then built a sanctuary just off Greenville Avenue. Due to decline in membership, God led FPC Allen congregants to join with members of Corinth Presbyterian Church, both part of Grace Presbytery, to make a fresh start.
In line with our storied history as a worshiping body, our current building was constructed in 1923 and is a significant landmark of the Parker landscape. In an effort to preserve the historic look of the building itself, we have recently invested the proceeds from the sale of the FPC Allen property to make major renovations to the current sanctuary, with additional plans for a community center in the near future. Come be a part of a promising future at Parker Presbyterian Church.
